To be left in Regrets

Hello

I'm translating a literature text into English so I want it to be a literature translation. There is a sentence which its meaning in English is: She was left in her regrets forever.

Does it sound meaningful to you? Or I must use a better phrase?

Hi There's not quite enough context there to be sure. The preposition I would use is 'with': - She made a sad mistake in her life and wished she had chosen differently. She was left with her regrets forever.
