To be going to or present progressive

Hello,

Which is a better choice in this sentence the progressive form or to be going to form?

Have you got any plans for the weekend? - Well, we are going to see a film on Sunday night or we are seeing a film on Sunday night.

Thanks

If I am 100% sure that I will watch the movie then the correct choice would be the progressive form, am I right?

Yes, that is the more solid plan—but natives are just as likely to use the 'be going to' future there.

We generally use the present progressive when there is some form of arrangement: I am meeting Andrea tomorrow.

We cannot use it for something which cannot be arranged: It's raining tomorrow.

We can use Be going to when there is present evidence of a future situation:It's going to rain soon.
The present evidence for that may be the dark
