Hello,
I learnt that intransitive verb can't be followed by infintive phrase. However following example has "to be" form after intransitive phrasal verb, grows up.
Every kitten grows up to be a cat.
Can you please clear my doubt ?
Thanks

Think of this as an idiom that means something like "becomes" or "turns into".
