Hi, Can I use "to be desperate for" with every expression, such as:I am desperate for food I am desperate for going to sleep and so on or there any differances?

For example, you can't use it with that gerund construction: desperate for going ...

desperate for [noun]
desperate to [verb]

He's desperate for excitement.
He's desperate to find excitement.

They're desperate for food.
They're desperate to eat.

She's desperate for sleep.
She's desperate to sleep.

Probably not with every expression, but as long as it makes sense, why not?

I am desperate for food. (A bit informal)

I am desperate for sleep.

Usually, we are desperate for something or desperate to do something.
