EDUCATION IN MARINERS’

BY Jhan Allen Gutierrez

Education could be seen as wings for the progress of the human being. It helps the individual to attain intellectual, physical and spiritual or emotional progress. In some ways, it helps the individual to live a happier life. For people without education, living comfortably turns difficult, especially in the modern world where specific skills are often needed to work. Besides, education is real wealth. Understanding how the world around us functions produces happiness, a kind of happiness that does not disappear. True education dignifies the individual.

Education is a very crucial part of building the economy of a state. Thus the quality of education defines the way how a country surpasses a problem. So, what can you say about the education quality rendered by our Alma Mater? Why did this institution ever exist? Are the founders aware that the kind of service they are giving to us students is not sufficient? Well, it’s not. Practically speaking, what most students have observed, in terms of instructors, the classrooms, and the way the registrar is admitting enrollees.

Mr. President, please don’t vacillate lending your ears and try to understand what we students really need. We are informing you such deficiencies because we are also bothered by such. Besides, this is for the progress of the school you ought to have good quality of teaching.

First and above all, there are some students appealing about some professors who, by the first day of formal classes during this academic year 2011-2012 have not been reporting to their respective classes. Preliminary examinations have started yet these sections haven’t absorbed any gen in conjunction with the subject. The Directress of the Student Personnel Services (SPS), Mrs. Cynthia A. Duka explained this invariable conflict during one of the parents’ orientation. She said that the Academic Affairs has already made resolution that they will conduct make-up classes during Saturdays for these sections. Well the question is, while making up with all the missed discussions, but how about the time that were wasted. Let us consider that these students may have some other important matters to organize during these days.

Secondly, regarding the classrooms, some sections have claimed about the irregularity of accommodation of classrooms, so due to this neglect, they were the ones to agonize. Before they can start the discussion, their allocated time for the subject is consumed because of a futile bargain for classrooms. Another waste of time and diminish of input of knowledge.

To the Administration, please don’t discount as another pointless matter. We are hoping for your kind consideration.

It's an article. It will be included in the school paper if it's gonna be approved by the editorial board. Please help me.

If I were you, I would try and restructure the manuscript into an "open letter to the administration".

As it is, your composition is one-third article and two-thirds complaint letter. Either you write it like an editorial or you write it as a letter to the editor, stating your grievances one by one and in a logical manner.
