To ask a refund of money?

Dear teachers,

please help me with this sentence. Tomorrow I have to write to a customer one mail and I need you to check my attempt. The situation is that the customer is responsible for the robbery of two flowerpots and the damage of a bar stool.

"Dear XXX
after checking with the guys who were at the stand, we are forced to ask you the refund of EUR 200,00 for the damage caused at the stand. We also claim EUR 100,00 for the rubbery of the flowerpots."

My doubts are:

1. is "to ask the refund" correct?
2. is "to cause" correct when referred to "damage"?
3. Could I say "the rubbery incurred"?

Thank you so much for checking

Dear Clive,

thank you so much!!

I have only few questions:

1. in which context can I use "robbery"?
2. you wrote "to charge you" but why did you omit the "with" I thought that after "to charge" I should add "with"

The rest is clear to me.

Thank you one more time.

Hi,

1. in which context can I use "robbery"?
Broadly speaking, robbery is stealing from a person by violence or the threat of violence. I don't see that in your context.
The general structure is that 'you rob a person' or 'you rob a place'.

2. you wrote "to charge you" but why did you omit the "with"

Hello Clive,

thank you so much.

I am very confused, why you can say "You have charged us with the bank fees" but you can´t say "Mary charged Tom for the book" ? I have learned in this forum that after "to charge" it should be "with".

Please answer me , it is very important for me.

Thank you

Pamela

Dear Clive,
thank you for your prompt reply. I find this verb "to charge" is a big problem and it is not clear how to use it. I am sure I have read in this forum "to charge someone with" , you didn´t recommend it.
I´ve found this thread: here I have been suggested "to debit with".
I don´t know why, I was sure that I "must" use "with" i

Dear Clive,

I think I am clear now but the problem is that I don´t feel I can say "You have charged our bank account with the bank fees" ???! I would say "You have charged us (us : my company) with the bank fees" or is it really natural to say "you have charged my bank account with the bank fees"??
Just imagine you have just bought from my company a stand, you have sent the money thro
