To articulate

I'm wondering if a sentence like this is ok:

he was the first one to articulate some of the hardships of these people in the form of a folk song.

can you combine "articulate" and "hardship"? I know you articulate feelings or try to articulate your problems...

but is it possible to articulate hardships?
