To and to have

Would you like to explore it?

Would you like to have explored it?

I am not sure between "to" and "to have" in using an infinitive. Please explain when should use it?

Top answer

Changing it to 'have (explored)' makes it past. Would you like to explore it? is like Do you want to explore it (at some time in the future )?
