To also do it on Sundays

0 Hi,02br
00I'd like some opinions on these sentences. Where should I put "also"? Consider that splitting invinitives doesn't bother me at all, I don't care what's "considered" correct, I'd like to know what "sounds" good and what "sounds" best.02br

00They tried to get me to do it 01b00also02b00 on Saturdays. No way!02br
00They tried to get me to 01b00also02b00 do it on Saturdays. No way!02br
02br
00Since I know that "I also have one in my room" is way better than "I have one also in my room", then I was wondering if the second one was better.02br
00Thank you in advance. 050010id1

0Truly, it's "They tried to get me to do it on Saturdays too!"02br

00The "also" just sounds awkward to me. If you really wanted to use it, then I'd say "to also do it"0-

0 Yes, "on Saturdays too" is the best way and what I would say too, but I saw a similar sentence with "also", so I wanted to ask about that. Anyway, I understand, thank you.02br

00Doll, "also" doesn't modify the sententence the way you described. What "also" modifies is usually made clear by the stress in the sentence. Stress is in bold:02br

00Yeah, Cool Breeze, you are right, that would make English too similar to Italian! Adverb position is still one of my biggest problems. In Italian you can put an adverb almost everywhere and it will sound good, in English that's not true. It wasn't too long ago that I learned "I have a PC also in my room" sucks.02br

00To me, [also] along with othe adverbs can be inserted in different part of a sentence, depending on the context. the writer has to decide which works best in a given context.02br
