Hi everyone!

A pinkish lining, musical box quietly lies near to the vase.
I checked with word spell it pointed these words as incorrect grammar usage and say to use only Near the vase.
Please clear my confusion.
Thanks!

Is there any difference between near and near to?
As far as I know, these are common: near something, next to something. Why do I know? I always make the mistake "near to'.

I may be wrong, but "near" and "near to" sound equal to me.
You're right about "next to something". There's also "close to something".
