Hrm...being Valedictorian is a title, but would you say that someone, "graduated valedictorian" or "graduated as valedictorian"? The rest of the grammar in the article I'm reading isn't all that great, but as it's referring to a title, it's a little trickier.
I mean, "graduated magna cum laude" is clear enough, but this is a bit harder.
