There will be a line on the receipt you sign to add your tip. Usually, you get your bill and you give your credit card to the server, who brings you back the bill plus your credit card and the receipt. You add the amount you want to tip on the line marked "Tip" or "Gratuity" and add the two amounts together for the total to be charged, and sign.

  • Alternatively, you can leave cash on the table for the server and simply sign for the amount of the bill.

Normally you pay the person waiting on you. When the waitor/waitress brings you the tab just tell him/her to include a 10$ tip when charging your credit card.

Hi,

In Canada, in a situation like this, I usually leave the tip on the table before going to pay at the register. Sometimes I hand it diirectly to the waiter as I leave the table.

****.cupidIs it possible that no bill is printed out and shown to us?
Anything is possible, but in a sit-down restaurant this situation is most unlikely to happen.
