Is this natural English? Do I need the (red) comma? Any suggestions please?

Tim's room was a total mess. It was filled with a nauseating smell, which did not bother him at all. In one corner of the room was a huge vase covered with a creepy cobweb with dead flies inside.

I would keep the comma. Also, usually there is more than one cobweb....
