can you please tell me whether this sentence is OK?

"I don't know when the movie is on. I will check the times/hours of it"

It doesn't sound right :/

It would be more natural to say: I don't know when the movie is playing. I will check the showtimes.

I would rather say: "I will check when the movie is screening."
Or "I will check when it is screening."
