Times tables
Hello,
In the book "Parrot and Olivier in America" by Peter Carey I came across the word "times tables". Some children come to the house of Miss Godefroy because their teacher has just broken her leg. Miss Godefroy takes the children in control and setting them on their bottoms in the great reception room "where she got them singing hteir times tables." In the dictionaries I have found just the word "time table". Could you explain me what's the difference between these two?
