Time with since

Hi,

I know the rule perfect with since but I'm not sur about the time in the next question :

Context : Let's say I graduated two mounths ago.

What do you think about this one ?

"I had been a mathematical student since I had graduated recently"

Thanks for your help.

anonymous "I had been a mathematical student since I had graduated recently" Correct English would be "I have been a mathematics student since I graduated recently", but this doesn't seem to make sense. Presumably you were a student until you graduated, not since? I was a mathematics student until I graduated recently.
