time vs. the time

Hi,

Is this sentence correct?

Maybe we can fix a place and the time.

Also, what is the difference in context between "time" and "the time" as we use those words in normal situations.

Top answer

The mix of articles sounds odd, and would not likely be uttered by native speakers. In 'normal' situations, the definite article indicates specificity or previous mention of the noun.
