Time marker

I have confused for these time markers such as so far, for some time now, by this time next year, up until now. In what tenses do we use for the time markers written? thanks

Top answer

They all appear to be tied very closely to the perfect aspect: I have eaten 3 hamburgers so far. I have been eating sushi for some time now. By this time next year, I will have received my first pension cheque.
