Till or Until

Could someone tell me the difference between "till" and "until"?
My dictionary says that "until" is the formal of "till" but I think there is some difference in how they are used.
Can anyone explain it in simple terms?
Thank you.

I don't know of any differences in usage. I never use "till". Maybe that's because I'm American.
