What's the difference? I'm totally confused.

Hi Semie, They mean the same. According to the Cambridge Dictionary until preposition, conjunction (ALSO till) 1 up to (the time that): I was up until three o'clock trying to get it finished! Hadn't we better wait until Antony's here?

Should till be spelled 'till?

To complement my post:

Till is slightly more informal. When used at the beginning of a sentence, we would usually use until:

Until they arrived, everything was fine. (NOT Till they arrived …)

To check the "apostrophe issue", I found this at http://www.wsu.edu:

I used the word "til" on my daughter's birthday party invitations...my 8 year old caught the spelling and made fun of me. Why was I brought up or thinking this was the proper way to spell it? I remember back in the day of winning all the spelling "bees" or b's. Is alzheimer's slowly coming on?

Don't feel bad. I always thought it was spelled that way until I came to this forum. I though "till" was what you put the money in or what you did to a field. Like many, I thought 'til was a shorted form of until. I'm still getting used to using till.

(And to the person who asked where the forum gurus go to ask, here's one example. In this case, I used the dictionary!)
