Hi,What do we call people with tight eyes like ones in eastern Asia like Japan?Is tight-eyed the right word?Any help is highly appreciated in advance,Regards,Iman

Yes, tight eyes. Also, 'squinty eyes'. Commonly known in the west as 'Japanese eyes' or 'Chinese eyes'. I cannot think a better word for this. May be others have a few more ideas.

ATTENTION: "tight eyes", "squint eyes", "slanted eyes" are all pejorative terms and have become politically incorrect. In the west, these terms are NOT USED.
My advice is to not use them under any circumstances other than intentionally when writing prose or other original works.
To refer to someone by the shape of their eyes is odious and outwardly bigoted. Perhaps in other cultures such terms are not seen as hurtful, but in English speaking nations they are.
If you need to refer to the shape of the eyes of most oriental peoples, say "almond shaped eyes."

My advice is that it's better to avoid the term 'slanting'.

If I had to, I'd say something like 'He looked Japanese'.

Or "He looked Asian," if, like most Westerners, you have a hard time distinguishing between various Asian groups.

Hi,

I've had lots of Asian students in my class, so some Asian groups I can identify. Some I can't..
But I wouldn't just say 'he looks Asian', because I know there is not one single Asian look.
