..tickets got sold out

We couldn't get to watch a movie because tickets got sold out.

Is it fine in terms of grammar?
Thanks

I'm not keen on "got sold out". This would work: "We couldn't get to watch a movie because the tickets sold out."

Consider whether you mean "the movie" (i.e. some specific movie) rather than "a movie".
