Hello,

Is there a need for TO here? If I use it, is it wrong?

Thanks

Hi,

If you insist on your using and thus, then I suggest:

Students can memorize the terms to score more highly in their exams, and thus they will get better grades.

In my opinion, you should use only one of the underlined phrases in your sentnece. If you include both of them,

you will sound odd because they amount to the same thing.
