If I want to concretize the idea of former sentence which word will be suitable:
Thus, ... So, ... or other?

They have obtained very interesting results. Thus, they managed to demonstrate ...

Hi, If your intention is simply to explain what the results were, I would just begin the second sentence by saying 'They managed to demonstrate . . '.

Hi,

If your intention is simply to explain what the results were, I would just begin the second sentence by saying

'They managed to demonstrate . . . .'.

May be my example was not exact. But I've meant if we need/want to emphasize the
idea/statement and its next explanation, or to make some emphasize before the general
conclusion, we use some typical connecting words. At least we mak

I wouldn't say 'so' is wrong. It tends to suggest 'as a consequence, as a result'.

I prefer these versions, that focus more on 'in this manner'.
