I think you left out a word or two from your question. What are you asking?

I did not. I think I couldn't write the question understandable. I haven't practiced English a while.

1. If the first letter of a word is a vowel, the will sound "thee", and if it's a consonant, it'll sound "thuh". Is the first letter of ocean and oval a vowel sound?

2. When we have an apple, an orange, does that mean they will become "thee apple", "the

1. Yes.

2. I'll stick my neck out and say yes.

Yes. I can't think of a counter-example either, so that's two of us. It must be true.

HI Rover, hi CaliJim,

I remembered now. The letters are long vowel sounds so they both take "thee".

Short vowel sounds take 'thee', too.

'Thee office', thee orange'. (I tried to put the second 'e' of 'thee' in brackets but it kept appearing as 'the(e)'.
