Thrown from the electrical jolt - disengaging from the electrical current

Hi, I know the meaning of every single word here, but the whole meaning doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone of you teachers explain it in a different style? thank you so very much.

Patients with electrical injuries are at risk for other injuries, such as being thrown from the electrical jolt or falling from heights after disengaging from the electrical current.
