Throw a paint job ...

Hi

For something as important as a car, don't settle for a color you don't enjoy. If you want a yellow car, throw a paint job on that aqua jalopy. If you like it, you need please no one else.

1. Does the 1st sentence say that if you're deciding to buy a car, don't buy the one which color you don't like?

2. I understand that "throw a paint job" just means "paint it"? And "aqua jalopy" is a junk of bright green and blue color?

That's the usual meaning (and probably what is meant here) but it can just be a clever sounding way for someone to refer to his car.

Like this: "Hey you guys, let's get the jalopy loaded so we can get on the road before the traffic becomes impossible."
