Throughout the centuries/Over the centuries/After the centuries

Throughout the centuries, natural pearls were highly valued and worn only by society's wealthiest members.

Hi,

For me, "over/after the centuries" mean about the same as "throughout the centuries," but do they do to you? Thanks.

After means at the end of the period; over and throughout mean during the period.
