Through road

What do we say generally? If we use a road or path to go from point A to B.
We should go through this way.

We should go by this way.

What is the difference between both. I know we say "we should go this way to go to somewhere" but I wanted to know what would be the meaning if I add prepositions.

The 2nd seems correct to me. Any other suggestions?

Don't say 'through' or 'by'. Just say eg We should go this way. We should go this way to Tom's house, We should go to Tom's house this way.
