"through" meanings

Hello,

I really have troubles understanding meanings of "through". I know two or three meanings of it ( walk through the seashore. see something through someone's eyes etc. ), but mostly I can't exactly get it.

For instant;

"live vicariously through me" - Faye told her mother on The Secret Circle Tv Series

Can anyone explain this sentence? and different examples on usages of "through" would be very very welcome.

Thanks.
