Three times of the size or three times the size

Is the following sentence wrong?

X is three times of the size of Y.

Is it wrong to put an 'of' here? We usually say '50 percent of X' or 'one fifth of the size of X'. In these cases we put an 'of'. Please help .

In an expression, X is often the unknown to be calculated. However, Y may represent a number or an object (such as a house). So you will mean “the size of Y”.
