Hi teachers,

Could you tell me if the synonyms given for 'wins' are possible?

In their games, she almost always wins.

a) triumphs

b) is victorious

c) gains

Even though, as you've said, 'they are much stronger', they help the students to understand the meaning of the verb 'wins'.

Not really. The other two terms have latin roots.

a) triumphs 'triunfa'

b) is victorious 'victoriosa'
