Three short answers

Hello everybody!
I am completing an application, and I have to answer three short open questions. Could you please have a look at them?
Thank you!!!

What makes you suited for the role to which you applied?

My passion for markets dates back to 2003, when I bought, on my father’s advice, my first mutual fund share. In the following years I cultivated this interest, experimenting strategies through virtual portfolios and understanding how markets work in practise, until I finally started trading on my own in early 2006. Now, being in touch with portfolio managers at (my corrent company), I broadened my knowledge of what working on the markets means, and I would like a position which is strictly related to them and to their exciting pace.

Hi Sharleenandrea, Your English here is already of a high standard, and doesn't need too much correction. However, I've made some amendments below where I think your prose either needs, or might benefit from, some minor changes. Whatever, good luck with your application!

Thank you very much, yizhivika! I appreciate your suggestions. Just one question: what's the difference between "practice" and "practise"? In the first answer, what I want to mean is that I have understood how markets actually work (how they work in reality)...

Hi Sharleenandrea,

The difference between the two words is that in British English, 'practise' is a verb, and 'practice' is a noun (note that Americans don't use 'practise' as the verbal form, and use 'practice' for both the noun and the verb).

In the sentence you've used above, 'in practice' needs to use the noun form, and that's why I amended it. It does, incidentally, mean wh
