three seats(plural)

Getting three seats don't make sense to me. OR

Getting three seats doesn't make sense to me.

Which one is correct? Shouldn't it be don't because three is plural?

Why does doesn't sound so much better to me? Is it because three seats is combined as one thing(entity)?

Thank you.

Getting three seats is a singular gerund phrase.

Hence, say doesn't.

Aaah... No wonder when I say it out-loud, "don't" sounds very wrong, but grammatically it seems correct...
