Three questions:
1) Is the sentence okay or way too long?
2) How would you punctuate it? I prefer as few commas as possible.
3) Is it natural to write 'window' to refer to the glass facade of the restaurant? Hank is sitting inside the restaurant, while Toby is standing outside it.
