three 'mixed bag' questions
Hi,
1. I think both of these show the use of a comma due to the existence of another element. If there were no element like that present, commas would not been necessary. Am I right? (Did I make the subjunctive right by pluralizing the verb 'was'??)
We are looking at sentences, as well as phrases, that are ten words or less.
2. Does the underlined part modify the words 'reports' and 'business letters' and is it an essential element for theml like for 'texts'?
We are looking at writings that appear in reports, business letters, adn other texts written in complete sentences.
3. Does this sentence correct? Is the word 'surfaced' an intransitive verb here? A similar form (as far as I can tell) was told to me as intransitive. That being this: The photo was hung on the wall.
Nothing constructive (or no constructive suggestion) was surfaced at our last meeting.
