Are these correct:

1) I was three hours in the office when I heard something strange.

2) He was two hours out of the house when I noticed his absence.

3) I am sorry I am late. I was two hours in the traffic.
(I was in the traffic for two hours.)

4) He was three years in Italy, He leant to speak fluent Italian in those years.
