Thought of (a) threat

Hello,

I've been thinking whether in here:

"Fear is an emotion caused by the thought of (a) threat"

"a" is needed or "redundant"

Can you please advise?

Thank you

Hotmale Fear is an emotion caused by the thought of (a) threat With or without, that is, countable or not. Either one will do. Personally, I'd go with "a".
