Hello teachers,
So I have already been to this party and I'm back home and my friend tells "I heard u had been to the party." So I say "Yeah I was all by myself so I thought of going there." I know this is right but when its already happened is it perfect to use thought ?
I personally say it and also hear a lot of people saying it as well but is it perfectly alright?
A few more EX: "I liked the phone so I thought of buying it"(when it's already been bought)
Thank you
Your sentences don't seem very likely in the contexts you describe. You may be thinking of this: Yeah, I was all by myself so I thought I'd go there. I liked the phone so I thought I'd buy it.

Your sentences don't seem very likely in the contexts you describe. You may be thinking of this:
Yeah, I was all by myself so I thought I'd go there.
I liked the phone so I thought I'd buy it.
Of course, there are other things you can say too, such as:
Yeah, I was all by myself so I decided to go.
I liked the phone so I decided to buy it.
Also idiomatic:
... so I thought I should (buy it, etc.) / ... so I thought I might (buy it, etc.)
'thought of -ing' isn't a good combination in your examples.
