Thought

I'm standing next to the curb. And I Say:

"I thought this was the curb." Or

"I thought that was the curb."

Whats the difference between the two?

Hi, Generally speaking, use 'this' for something close to you and 'that' for something less close. Also consider this. Starting a statement with I thought' often suggests that you n longer think so.
