Which option is correct. I think "A" is Ok, but I can't explain why "E" is wrong. Or the other way round?

Of the choices offered, E is the only acceptable one. It contrasts the predicted violence to the nonviolence of the actual match.

A is not correct here because 'though' is a conjunction and should not be preceded by a period. In other words, here it does not join two clauses into a single sentence. Nor would it be correct to follow it by a comma.

'Though' can also be used informally as an adverb, but would not normally be placed at the start of the sentence.

eg You could say Galatasaray's semi-final match with Leeds in Britain had been thought to lead to ****** events. No drop of blood was shed by any English supporter neither before nor after the match, though.

As a final comment about the second sentence, because of the use of no drop, either/or is needed rather than neither/nor, in order to avoid a double negative.
