Though still in his junior years, Mike made many...

Hi

Would this sentence as the start of a short story be natural to native ears? Any suggestions are welcome.

Though still in his junior years, Mike made many immoral tales tag along him -- and sadly, they all were true.

Or this one? I'm aware this one is a dangling.

Though still in his junior years, many immoral tales preceded Mike, and sadly they were all true.

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks a lot, Alphecca Stara.

Your second sentence says "but sadly" -- what if I use "and sadly"? Would it be OK?
