Though it may have been

My sentence: "There is a real chance my foray into the financial sector, sordid though it may have been, will be viewed by employers as some sort of advantage."

What's the way to say "though it may have been" if it's still going on and not in the past? Thank you.

" What's the way to say "though it may have been" if it's still going on and not in the past? eg There is a real chance my foray into the financial sector, sordid though it may be , will be viewed by employers as some sort of advantage. A casual reader might take this to mean that it is the financial sector, not the foray, that is sordid.

Yeah, didn't think of that. But why wouldn't it be "… sordid though it's been?"

Does anybody have an answer to this last reply? I thank you.

Though it may have been suggests the foray is over or at least no longer sordid., You said you wanted to indicate it is still going on.

Consider these simpler examples.
eg Broken though it may have been, your leg is fine now.

eg Broke

No, I know, that part I get.

sordid though it may be, — that's what you suggested originally and as I understand it means present tense

What I suggested in my reply to you was "sordid tho

I'd consider 'Sordid though it has been so far'.
