I think that ALTHOUGH is used in formal language and THOUGH is more common in informal language.

Both mean the same, "though" I'm not sure........Let's see what a native speaker says.

I can't see any difference between:

Although she came late, the teacher didn't say a word.

Though she came late, the teacher didn't say a word.
