Those Vs these?

I can't really understand the difference..

"These guys are so annoying."

"Those guys are so annoying."


*Watching something about poor countries on TV*

"Ah that is sad. Those people are so poor.."

"Ah that is sad. These people are so poor.."


Which is correct? And an easy way to know whether to use those or these in a sentence?
