Js it correct to say, "I'll have one of them." ? I have been told it should be "I'll have one of those."

Although it is VERY common usage to say, "I'll have one of them", it would be more proper (in the strictest form ) to say, "I'll have one of those". The best way IMO to find your way is to finish out the sentence. For example, if someone asked you, "Do you like these apples", would you say "Yes, I do like them apples" or "Yes, I do like those apples"?
