Those and They

I have a question about the word They and Those, Please attention to the conversation below:
A) What are those Ling? B) They're my English books.
As we see, in the part 2, we have a question with the word Those to point away, and in the part 2 we answered with the word They to point the things <Books> at away. Now what is my question: I want to know why we didn't used <They> in part 1 or why we didn't used <Those> in part 2?
