this/that/those/these

Hello,

1. -------------- birds, on the ground, are hens.

2. ------------- boys , in the garden , are naughty.

3. ------------ photo , on the wall, is big.

I have to fill in the gaps with this/that/these/those.

In all question , am not able to guess that the objects(birds,boys,photo) are near to speaker or away to speaker.

For first two questions "those" seems to be correct choice and for (3) "that" seems to be correct.

Could anybody help me?

What a silly exercise!
There is no information given about whether the speaker is near or far from the hens, the garden, or the wall.

I would assume they were far, but there's no guarantee!
