This/That

Hi. Can I use this and that interchangeably on an on-line chat?

For example, after sharing a link of a website:

1) Check this song out.

2) Check that song out.

Or, before sharing a link of a website:

1) Check this song out.

2) Check that song out.

I have a feeling after sharing a link, it's better to use that whereas before sharing a link it's better to use this.

I remember asking a similar question when I first signed up here. And If I recall correctly it was fivejedjon who replied to my question, but I couldn't find it even though I waded through all my posts.

Could you please also tell if my usage of waded through is appropriate?

Nugso it's better to use that whereas before sharing a link it's better to use this. Probably, but it's not so important; either will work. Nugso Could you please also tell if my usage of waded through is appropriate?
