This type of people does or do?

I heard that there is a debate among grammarians regarding this sentence whether the verb should be singular or plural. This/some kind of people do have or has easy lifestyle.

If that's true, is it a difference between 2 parts of the English-speaking world like Brits and Americans or old and new fashion, or it is among everyone? And what's the most popular among native speakers?

This kind of people do have an easy lifestyle.

Only have is correct. It's not plural. It's an infinitive following do. There is no disagreement among grammarians about this. Note the article before lifestyle.

So you're saying type/types and person/people should be concordant, so it would be obvious what form of a verb to use, right?

May you also tell me what a non-careful native English speaker would sloppily use?

What you wrote in the beginning.

And 'May you?' is not a possible English request. Use 'Would/Could/Can you?'

Oh CB, you're right. It was a typo putting 'do'. I meant only "have or has". And thank you for the article before 'lifestyle'

So, you're saying that "This type of people have an easy lifestyle" is the correct sentence, aren't you?

Mister Micawber, I wrote both!! Not sure which one you're referring to.

1. This type of people have an easy lifestyle.
2. This type of people has an easy lifestyle.

Ah. Well, both—but Cool Breeze's is much more common. The supersession of proximal and notional concord ('people have') is very common among native speakers
